The linen pouch dismissal
A linen pouch working with privacy, concealment, and the difference between incubation and avoidance to remove an unwanted influence from your own space, habits, or attention.
Meaning and practice
A cloth pouch protects unfinished work while making concealment a conscious choice. In a dismissal, this turns a small cloth pouch into a test of privacy, concealment, and the difference between incubation and avoidance. The object matters because it forces an answer through placement, pressure, sound, or movement rather than through wishful language.
Give the hidden matter a date when it must be opened and reviewed. That demand is what distinguishes this linen pouch rite from another dismissal: its conclusion depends on the specific problem carried by a small cloth pouch, not on a generic promise of change.

The source records historical uses and meanings of objects in the same family as a small cloth pouch. A cloth pouch protects unfinished work while making concealment a conscious choice. This working applies that documented motif to remove an unwanted influence from your own space, habits, or attention; its wording and sequence are original to Okkult.
What you’ll need
- A small cloth pouch
- Three small paper slips
- A pencil
- A length of cotton cord
- A paper arrow
- A recycling bag
The ritual
- Turn the empty pouch inside out, remove any debris, and turn it back. Write only one subject on each paper slip. Arrange the workspace specifically for this dismissal, removing anything that will not be used.
- Write the influence you are dismissing and what will occupy its place along the arrow and name what will occupy the cleared place on its reverse. Keep this question visible while you work: “What needs darkness to develop, and what are you hiding from examination?”
- Fold the intention toward you and place it inside the pouch. Move a small cloth pouch one deliberate step toward the exit and leave its former position empty.
- Point the arrow toward the nearest appropriate exit, say “Your place is elsewhere; this space returns to me,” and place it in the recycling bag. Give the hidden matter a date when it must be opened and reviewed.
- Close the pouch for one week, then open it and review the written action. Move the written influence toward an exit, recycle it, and change one habit that invited its return.
