The star map dismissal

A star map working with a map created from points that never dictated one route to remove an unwanted influence from your own space, habits, or attention.

Meaning and practice

Seven dots become a constellation only through chosen lines and interpretation. In a dismissal, this turns a card marked with seven dots into a test of a map created from points that never dictated one route. The object matters because it forces an answer through placement, pressure, sound, or movement rather than through wishful language.

Connect the facts without explaining them, then draw a second plausible pattern. That demand is what distinguishes this star map rite from another dismissal: its conclusion depends on the specific problem carried by a card marked with seven dots, not on a generic promise of change.

The Book of Talismans, Amulets and Zodiacal Gems

William Thomas and Kate Pavitt · 1922

The source records historical uses and meanings of objects in the same family as a card marked with seven dots. Seven dots become a constellation only through chosen lines and interpretation. This working applies that documented motif to remove an unwanted influence from your own space, habits, or attention; its wording and sequence are original to Okkult.

What you’ll need

  • A card marked with seven dots
  • A ruler
  • A dark pencil
  • A second blank card
  • A paper arrow
  • A recycling bag

The ritual

  1. Copy seven well-spaced dots onto the blank card without connecting them. Keep the original pattern face down as a reference. Arrange the workspace specifically for this dismissal, removing anything that will not be used.
  2. Write the influence you are dismissing and what will occupy its place along the arrow and name what will occupy the cleared place on its reverse. Keep this question visible while you work: “Which connection exists because you drew it, and can it be redrawn?”
  3. Connect the seven dots in any order while holding the intention in mind. Move a card marked with seven dots one deliberate step toward the exit and leave its former position empty.
  4. Point the arrow toward the nearest appropriate exit, say “Your place is elsewhere; this space returns to me,” and place it in the recycling bag. Connect the facts without explaining them, then draw a second plausible pattern.
  5. Circle the dot that draws your eye first and keep the card for seven days. Move the written influence toward an exit, recycle it, and change one habit that invited its return.
