The star map fortune
A star map working with a map created from points that never dictated one route to open your attention to useful opportunities and timely choices.
Meaning and practice
The star map form approaches open your attention to useful opportunities and timely choices through a map created from points that never dictated one route. Seven dots become a constellation only through chosen lines and interpretation. That symbolism gives the rite its limit: the object can expose a decision, but only the following action can carry it into life.
Connect the facts without explaining them, then draw a second plausible pattern. That demand is what distinguishes this star map rite from another fortune: its conclusion depends on the specific problem carried by a card marked with seven dots, not on a generic promise of change.
Sources behind this working
The Book of Talismans, Amulets and Zodiacal Gems
William Thomas and Kate Pavitt · 1922
The source records historical uses and meanings of objects in the same family as a card marked with seven dots. Seven dots become a constellation only through chosen lines and interpretation. This working applies that documented motif to open your attention to useful opportunities and timely choices; its wording and sequence are original to Okkult.
What you’ll need
- A card marked with seven dots
- A ruler
- Three blank tickets or cards
- A green pencil
The ritual
- Copy seven well-spaced dots onto the blank card without connecting them. Keep the original pattern face down as a reference. Arrange the workspace specifically for this fortune, removing anything that will not be used.
- Write ASK, NOTICE, and ARRIVE on the cards, then shuffle them beneath the ritual object. Keep this question visible while you work: “Which connection exists because you drew it, and can it be redrawn?”
- Connect the seven dots in any order while holding the intention in mind. Change the direction of a card marked with seven dots without looking, then use its new orientation to choose where you will seek an opening.
- Draw one card, speak “I notice the opening and meet it prepared,” and use that verb as today’s method of meeting chance. Connect the facts without explaining them, then draw a second plausible pattern.
- Circle the dot that draws your eye first and keep the card for seven days. Carry the token for a day and act when a suitable opportunity appears.
