The black feather dismissal
Send a lingering insult away on the lightest thing the wind can carry.
What you’ll need
- A clean black craft feather
- A strip of paper
- Black thread
The ritual
- Write the insult or slight on the strip without adding your reply.
- Wrap the paper around the feather’s stem and tie it with the thread.
- Carry it outside and point the feather away from your home while naming what you release.
- Remove the paper and thread for disposal, then leave the reusable feather on an outdoor ledge overnight.
