The blunt needle
Take the point out of criticism designed to wound rather than guide.
What you’ll need
- A blunt tapestry needle
- A cork
- Gray thread
The ritual
- Thread the blunt needle while recalling the criticism exactly.
- Push the needle into the cork so its point is fully covered.
- Wind the gray thread around both objects until the needle cannot move.
- Put the bundle aside and write down only the part of the criticism that is useful, if any.
