The crossed twigs
Bar a repeated nuisance from crossing the same boundary again.
What you’ll need
- Two fallen twigs
- Cotton thread
- A small paper tag
The ritual
- Write the nuisance on the tag and lay it beneath the twigs.
- Cross the twigs over the writing and bind their center with thread.
- Point each end toward a different direction and say, “No straight path remains.”
- Place the bundle outside under cover for seven days, then return the twigs to the ground.
