The final-word envelope
End an argument that survives only because someone insists on reopening it.
What you’ll need
- Paper and pencil
- An envelope
- A black sticker
The ritual
- Write your final position in one paragraph without insults, threats, or repetition.
- Read it once and remove every sentence that does not change the outcome.
- Seal the remaining statement inside the envelope with the black sticker.
- Place it away and decline to argue the same points again.
