The hourglass delay
Slow an adversarial plan long enough for facts, help, and protection to arrive.
What you’ll need
- A small hourglass or timer
- Two paper cards
- A pencil
The ritual
- Write the threatening plan on one card and the help you need on the other.
- Place the first card beneath the timer and the second above it.
- Turn the timer and say, “Their haste slows; my help draws near.”
- Before the time runs out, send the message, gather the record, or make the call named on the second card.
