The mirror at dusk
Use the changing light of evening to notice symbols at the edge of sight.
What you’ll need
- A small mirror
- A dark cloth
- A notebook
The ritual
- At dusk, place the mirror upright against the dark cloth where it catches only soft natural light.
- Sit to one side so your own face is not centered in the glass, and ask what deserves your attention.
- Soften your gaze for several minutes. Notice shapes, colors, memories, or words that arrive without chasing them.
- Cover the mirror and write the impressions in the order they appeared. Underline the one that stayed with you.
