The pepper ring
Surround a warning with enough heat that it can no longer be casually ignored.
What you’ll need
- A sealed packet of pepper flakes
- A round plate
- A written boundary
The ritual
- Place the written boundary at the center of the plate.
- Lay the sealed pepper packet on the plate and move it in a full circle around the paper.
- Repeat the boundary once with each quarter-turn.
- Remove the packet for ordinary kitchen use and keep the boundary visible until it is respected.
