The pulse-bound promise
Set a promise beside the rhythm of your pulse and bind it to a measured practice.
What you’ll need
- One drop of your own blood already available from routine medical testing or menstruation
- A cotton swab
- A narrow paper strip
- A timer
- White thread
The ritual
- Write the promise on the strip, then rest two fingers at your wrist and count thirty seconds of pulse.
- Place one small blood mark after the final word and allow it to dry completely.
- Wrap the dry strip with white thread using the number of turns you counted, reducing the count to a single digit if needed.
- Seal and discard the swab, then keep the bound strip beside the place where you practice the promise.
