The rain-washed grievance
Wear down a grievance that another person keeps sharpening against you.
What you’ll need
- Water-soluble pencil
- A piece of uncoated paper
- A shallow tray
- Rainwater
The ritual
- Write the grievance as you understand it across the paper.
- Place the paper in the tray outdoors or beside an open window where spills are safe.
- Pour rainwater slowly over the words until they blur and break apart.
- Let the paper dry, then tear it into small pieces and recycle or compost it where appropriate.
