The ribboned mouth
Bind cruel speech to silence without binding honest testimony or necessary truth.
What you’ll need
- A paper mouth cutout
- A black ribbon
- A white pencil
The ritual
- Write “cruelty only” across the paper mouth so the working has a clear limit.
- Wrap the black ribbon around the cutout three times.
- Tie it once and say, “Truth may pass; malice stays.”
- Keep it in a drawer until the harmful speech stops, then untie and recycle the paper.
