The salt spiral
Lead unwanted attention inward until it loses direction and exhausts itself.
What you’ll need
- A shallow dark plate
- Coarse salt
- A small brush
The ritual
- Pour a thin spiral of salt from the rim of the plate toward its center.
- Name the unwanted attention and trace the spiral inward with one finger held above it.
- At the center say, “Turn upon yourself and find no road to me.”
- Brush the salt into an outdoor bin and wipe the plate clean.
