The clouded glass
Cloud the view of anyone prying into matters that do not concern them.
What you’ll need
- A clear drinking glass
- Cold water
- A spoonful of salt
The ritual
- Fill the glass halfway and name what you intend to keep private.
- Add the salt and stir until the water clouds or swirls.
- Cover the glass with your hand and say, “Look elsewhere; nothing opens here.”
- Pour the water down the sink, wash the glass, and close the real channel through which information escaped.
