The paper thorn
Give a sharp edge to a boundary that has been mistaken for a suggestion.
What you’ll need
- A square of sturdy paper
- A red pencil
- A small box
The ritual
- Write the ignored boundary across the paper in direct language.
- Fold the paper into a narrow point, keeping the words on the inside.
- Mark the point red and say, “The next crossing meets the edge.”
- Place it safely inside the box and follow through on the consequence you named.
