The wax-and-water figures
Shape softened beeswax, release it into water, and read the figure it becomes.
What you’ll need
- A small piece of modeling beeswax
- A bowl of cool water
- A white cloth
The ritual
- Warm the beeswax between your hands until it becomes soft while considering your question.
- Close your eyes and press or fold the wax without trying to form a recognizable object.
- Drop the wax into the water, then turn the bowl slowly and view the shape from several sides.
- Place the figure on the cloth. Name the first three images you see and combine them into a short interpretation.
