The candle-flame omen
Read the posture and movement of a single flame while holding one clear question.
What you’ll need
- An unscented candle in a stable holder
- Matches or a lighter
- A notebook and pencil
The ritual
- Set the candle on a clear, fireproof surface away from curtains, drafts, children, and pets.
- Write one open question at the top of a page, then light the candle and sit at a comfortable distance.
- Watch the flame for three minutes. Note whether it leans, rises, dips, or remains still, along with the first association each motion brings.
- Extinguish the candle fully. Circle the observation that feels most relevant and write one action it suggests.
